Many of you have heard of the ocular disease, glaucoma, perhaps you have a family member who has suffered with it? The statistics are more and more alarming and every single adult, or offspring of a glaucoma patient, should embark on regular and routine glaucoma screening.
This significant diagnostic breakthrough has been found to provide precise, accurate information to help diagnose glaucoma earlier, and could help us start treatment before any vision loss occurs.
Before you rule yourself out, consider the following questions:
Do you have: Yes/ No
- A family history of glaucoma?
- African or Latino ancestry?
- High eye pressure?
If you answered no to all three of the above questions, a complete eye exam is still strongly recommended if:
• You are 20–29 years old and have never had a complete eye exam
• You are 30–39 years old and it has been over 5 years since your last complete eye exam
• You are 40–64 years old and it has been over 2 years since your last complete eye exam
• You are 65 or older and it has been over a year since your last complete eye exam
